GSK was a pioneer in the development of new antibiotics and vaccines, launched the first drug against HIV on the market and submitted the world's first malaria vaccine candidate for approval in 2014.

A globally unique partnership with Save the Children has been in place since 2013 with the goal of saving the lives of one million children. According to the Access to Medicine Index, GSK is the largest contributor to improved access to medicine: for the sixth consecutive year, GSK is number one in the Access to Medicine Index. GSK is a member of Transparency International Austria and is certified in Austria as a Leitbetrieb Austria.
